Athleague
Established in 1990, Athleague Hurling Club is one of the oldest and most respected hurling clubs in County Roscommon. With a deep-rooted history in the parish, the club has long been at the centre of hurling in the county — winning multiple senior championships and producing generations of skilled players and passionate supporters.
Based in Waldron Park, Cloonykelly, the club is well known for its iconic blue and white jerseys and strong tradition in hurling. Over the decades, Athleague has claimed an impressive 20 Roscommon Senior Hurling Championship titles, with recent successes in 2003, 2006, 2007, 2018, and 2021. The club regularly competes at provincial level in the Connacht Intermediate Club Hurling Championship and continues to be a key contributor to the Roscommon county hurling team, with its grounds frequently used for county training.
