Boyle

Boyle has a notable hurling legacy: the military-represented Boyle team clinched the Roscommon Senior Hurling Championship in 1927—their sole senior hurling title to date. After a long absence of hurling in the town, a Hurling club was re-established once again in 2019 by Cormac Mullen, Marie Kelly, Karen Farrell and Brian Kelly.

We have members joining from local townlands close to Boyle such as Ballyfarnon, Ballinameen, Cootehall and Corrigeenroe.  In 2024, Boyle lined out for the u12 league and contested close games which has strengthened the resolve of hurling. We currently have a strong representation at u8 and u10 and are receiving strong support from Roscommon coiste iomana towards involvement in go games events. Roscommon GAA GPO Prionsios Killion and Boyle native Stephen Bohan have given invaluable assistance with coach mentoring.

The camogie club was established in 2016 and has been growing year on year. Boyle camogie has representatives at u16 county development panels which shows the amazing work the coaches are doing at a grass roots level. The future is bright and hopeful for all involved in Boyle Hurling Club.
