Oran

Hurling in Oran began in the 1950s but only gained real momentum in 1965 when a juvenile club was formed by local schoolteachers Gerry Mahon and Michael Kelly. Success followed quickly, with Oran dominating underage hurling in the 1970s and winning multiple U-14, U-16, and minor titles, including a Connacht Community Games title in 1975.

Four Roads Hurling Club is one of Roscommon’s most successful and historic hurling clubs, with a proud tradition of success on and off the field. Rooted in the heart of the community, the club has developed generations of talented players and remains a powerhouse of hurling in the county. With a strong focus on youth development, community spirit, and competitive excellence, Four Roads continues to promote the game at all levels – from underage Go Games right through to senior championship success.
